Mineral foundation is the type of makeup foundation that does not include preservatives, fragrance or other chemicals that can irritate your skin, making them ideal to use on sensitive skin.
Thanks to Studio Gear I have been introduced to another of their great products.
Studio Gear Cosmetics is a prestigious cosmetics brand that features an accessible and high quality full collection of professional makeup brushes, revolutionizing complexion formulas, and a wide selection of color products for the eyes, cheeks, and lips.
This time I tried their Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation, a versatile dual foundation that can be worn dry or wet and in 4 different ways as well!
This formula provides all the benefits you could expect from a normal mineral foundation, but enhanced with the improved application, feel, look, and performance you love from your favorite wet or dry foundation.
I also received the Revitalizing Day Serum and the #3 Domed Foundation Brush.
1 Foundation | 4 Ways
1. Mineral Powder: Keep it simple and buff Foundation into skin on it’s own or over primer for light coverage.
2. Serum Foundation: Mix it up with Revitalizing Day Serum to create custom, super moisturizing coverage. (Tip, you can also mix with your favorite SPF)
3. Mattifying Finishing Powder: Take it on the go to set your liquid make-up and stay matte all day.
4. Cream Contour: Mix up darker and lighter shades with Protective Day Lotion for creamy, blendable, custom contour.
You can also apply Dual Identity as #1 way and then dampen your brush or sponge and press the moistened puff into the powder. Blend with the #3 Domed Foundation Brush to see the transformation.
*Swatches
Here you can see 3 different swatches of the Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation:
1. The Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation just as powder (Dry). You can see it gives you a very light matte finish.
2. The Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation mixed with a drop of Revitalizing Day Serum (Wet). Here you see a more creamier finish that can give you more coverage.
3. The Dual Identity Wet/Dry Mineral Foundation (Wet & Dry combined). Definitely a more matte coverage here.
The Revitalizing Day Serum is an exclusive formulation that contains avocado oil, fatty acids and vitamin E to help diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and protect the skin from environmental damage and moisture loss.
You can use it by itself as part of your skin care routine, or mix it with the Dual Identity foundation to create a rich cream foundation.

Hair And Makeup With Aveda – Backstage NYFW
Hair And Makeup play a big role when it comes to putting a look together, whether it is for streetstyle fashion or for a fashion runway.
Any designer’s collection, when presented, doubtlessly needs to be intertwined with the appropriate hairstyle and makeup, in order to ensure the success of the event.
I had the honor to be backstage with AVEDA and its awesome team for two fashion shows during this past New York Fashion Week SS16.
There I had the chance to experience what it’s like to prepare the look for every single model and see how hard work does pay off at the end.
For the purpose of a better understanding, I decided to brake this post in two parts: my experience at LATINISTA and at CHIARA BONI Spring-Summer 2016 New York Fashion Week.
1.- LATINISTA Fashion Week/Cesar Galindo & Milagros Batista – Hair
For this show the hair was represented by “The Party Pony”; a beautiful and versatile sleek ponytail with a twist of messiness in the front. Tippi Shorter, Aveda Global Artistic Director for Textured Hair, explains that “The look is a blend of two cool styles; there’s an undone crown with wispy pieces of hair framing the face and a sleek, finished and plumped up ponytail”.
In order to achieve the look, she followed these easy steps using these Aveda Hair Products:
The Party Pony
.
Steps To The Look
.
Step 1: On dry hair, spray Aveda Thickening Tonic until hair is damp.
Step 2: Begin taking 1” sections of hair and gently twirl from root to end and set for texture.
Step 3: Once all hair is twirled in sections, take one piece at a time, and blow dry. Lay the dried sections over the face to create volume at the roots while continuing to dry remaining sections.
Step 4: Flip the dried twirls back and with a small amount of Light Elements™ Defining Whip™ in hands, gently unravel the twirls and massage hair to create added textured at the crown.
Step 5: Pull hair into low ponytail ensuring the top has volume. Secure with a bungee. Wrap a small section of hair around bungee and secure with a pin under the ponytail.
Step 6: Spray ponytail with Aveda Brilliant™ Shine-on Spray, then flat-iron the ponytail smooth.
Step 7: Finish with a light mist of Aveda Control™ Force Firm Hair Spray.

To engage with the collection, Aveda Guest Artist Jon Reyman created the “Flowering Rose Bud”, which consists of pretty layers of textured hair, accented with sleek modern finger waves framing the face on both sides.
John Reyman explained that “The slick waves emulated the look of rose petals, and organically transitioned into free-flowing hair that was little wild and natural, like a blooming flower.”
In order to achieve the look, he followed these easy steps using these Aveda Hair Products:
Flowering Rose Bud Hair Look
Steps To The Look
.
Step 1: Prep hair with a liberal misting of Aveda Thickening Tonic and blow dry hair for texture.
Step 2: With hair parted down the center, apply a generous amount of Aveda Brilliant™ Retexturizing Gel to the top half of head to create the wet appearance.
Step 3: On the right side, begin forming a traditional finger wave from the top of the part going down to the back of the ear. Set each waved section with a clip. Repeat on the left side.
PRO TIP: Place a playing card under each clip to avoid ridging on the hair.
Step 4: Once done, place a stocking cap on clipped waves to further set style.
Step 5: With the top drying, begin wrap hair that is hanging loose around a ¾” barrel curling rod.
Step 6: Use a wide-tooth comb to pull out the freshly set curls for a flowing loose wave.
Step 7: Apply new Aveda Shampure™ Dry Shampoo (Available November 1, 2015) on the back for added texture and remove the cap and clips. Let the finger waves hang naturally.
b.- Makeup
Aveda Global Artist Director for Makeup Janell Geason created the “Flower in Bloom” Makeup Look, consisting of a soft pink and orangey shades.
Flower in Bloom Makeup Look
Steps To The Look
Step 1: Create a luminous, fresh complexion with Inner Light™ Mineral Tinted Moisture and Inner Light™ Concealer where needed. Set lightly with Inner Light™ Mineral Loose Powder.
Step 2: Lightly apply Petal Essence™ Single Eye Color in Opal on top lash line.
Step 3: Curl lashes and apply Mosscara™ Black Forest.
Step 4: Fill in brows, if needed, with Petal Essence™ Eye Color Trio in Gobi Sands with brow brush.
Step 5: With a blush brush apply Petal Essence™ Face Accents in Apricot Whisper along the cheekbones.
Step 6: Add a touch of Petal Essence™ Face Accents in Rose Blossom to the apples of the cheeks.
Step 7: Line the lips with Nourish-mint™ Lip Liner in Purple Sage and blend edges inwards.
Step 8: Fill in lips with Nourish-mint™ Smoothing Lip Color in Wild Fuchsia with brush.
Step 9: Add a touch of Nourish-mint™ Rehydrating Lip Glaze in Sun Kissed Melon to the center of the lips.

American Pride * Stylo 192♥
American pride unites all Americans holding the country together and always trying to make it better.
Even though I was not born and/or raised in the United States my father inculcated my brother and I a deep love and respect for this country, so much that I celebrate the 4th of July with a lot of pride and joy.
I decided to create my 4th of July Stylo a week ahead in order to give you an idea on what to wear on that special day.
I chose the classic Red, White and Blue combo.
I bought this white dress a few weeks ago, and I was saving it for my nephew’s Baptism, but I couldn’t resist wearing it now. 🙄
I love the flattering flare design as well as its flowy fabric. It is super retro with a modern chic accent, and you can dress it down or dress it up!
As you can see in the pics, I am wearing the dress with flat sandals as well as with heeled sandals, and I honestly love both looks! It’s all going to depend on my kind of mood and also where I am heading to.
I chose to wear my jewelry in royal blue and I added this gorgeous red satchel my mom gave me. 😉
Regarding the Makeup, I combined blue eyeshadows paired with an eye-catching red lipstick. I made sure the eye makeup was soft and subtle, so the whole makeup wouldn’t look exaggerated.

My New Color Blush: Passion From Paula Dorf
I am always looking for a Color Blush that is highly pigmented and blends well into my skin.
Paula Dorf Cheek Color adds a soft translucent natural glow to your skin with extraordinary staying power.
Paula Dorf Cosmetics is a high quality collection of brushes and color cosmetics whose philosophy is to empower women, being their signature phrase: Become your own makeup artist®
I personally tried it in Passion and loved the finish! It is a soft pink/peachy powder color blush that is highly pigmented with a soft finish.
It blended really well with my contouring and highlighting powders, and that is something really important when it comes to achieving a flawless look.
Choosing the right color blush is crucial, because it’s not only about the shade, but it is also about the quality of the product, if you really want to obtain a flawless and impeccable finish.
Some people think blush is just an optional makeup step, therefore it’s not necessary. But the truth is that it is as important as it is wearing foundation or even lipstick.
A blush is going to define your cheeks and it is also going to add color to your face so you don’t look pale. It also helps camouflage chubby cheeks like mines! 😆
So now that you know the importance of wearing blush, make sure not to only get one, but to also pick the right one! →→→ Paula Dorf Cheek Color

New Years Eve 2015 * Stylo 167♥
My New Years Eve 2015 was an amazing day filled with happiness, love and a lot of hope and expectations. I sincerely hope yours was as great as mine was 😛
As usual, I spent it with family and meaningful people who every year gather together to receive the new year in a positive energy mode.
For New Years Eve I chose to wear Green, the official color for 2015 and that, by the way, represents healing and truth. I had ordered this dress from Rosegal back in November, and I decided to save it for this special occasion.
This is a mini long sleeved lace dress perfect to be worn with tights and pumps; and that is exactly what I did, I added these sparkling tights paired with black satin pumps, that was in order to make my legs look longer! 😉
I chose to wear gold accessories from Lakshmi’s Jewelry Collection, as well as an evening bag in beige and gold to match the heel of the shoes.
I left my hair loose and dead straight, and created a sparkling makeup, very appropriate for the occasion. I combined black, gray and silver eye shadows with a touch of glitter, and paired it with pinkish nude lips.
I received and I am still receiving tons of compliments with this look. Everybody loved the dress and I honestly feel I couldn’t have picked a better Stylo to receive this new year!
