Ashy Hands? Try These 5 Useful Home Remedies

Ashy hands could be a result of the exposure to cold or dry air, as well as not getting enough skin hydration.

I personally experience this during winter time. My hands get rougher and super dry. I honestly don’t like showing ugly and scruffy hands, I think that is so unfeminine.

Therefore it is very important to give your hands some extra care when you see these signs, even though I know it could be expensive sometimes.

That is why I gathered 5 easy and beneficial home remedies that will help you repair your hands and restore their beauty and softness without having to spend a lot of money.

Make sure to do these in a weekly basis, and don’t forget to drink plenty of water and stay away from the excessive use of detergents.

5 Useful Home Remedies To Treat Ashy Hands

1. Exfoliant. It is very important to exfoliate your skin in order to remove the dead cells and dull skin.

Mix 2 tablespoons of Oatmeal with 1 tablespoon of Yogurt. Rub vigorously in a circular motion for a minute or two. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Or you can use my Homemade Organic Body Scrub for amazing results! It is made with organic coconut oil, which is extremely effective at treating skin damaged by the UV rays from the sun.

2. Hand Mask. The same way you do hair and face masks, a hand mask is recommendable to hydrate and moisturize the skin.

Mix a slice of Avocado with 2 tablespoons of Yogurt. Break open a capsule of Vitamin E and add it to the mixture. Apply on hands and leave it for approximately 10 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

3. Aloe Vera Gel. Works well as an humectant, since it absorbs the moisture from the air to adhere it to your skin. It soothes your skin and it is also an antifungal and antiseptic, specially if you have any burns or cuts.

Apply a small dab and rub it on your hands after applying the exfoliant and the hand mask.

4. Moisturizer. This is an important step, since it will keep the ashiness away and will also contribute to having a softer skin.

5. Gloves. Apply either some Vaseline, Shea Butter or the Simple Nourishing Cream (above cited) at night and put on a pair of cotton gloves. Leave them overnight. Moisturizing treatments at night are the best, since they soak in while you sleep.

Beauty Benefits Of Tea Tree Oil

The beauty benefits of Tea Tree Oil are amazing! That is no to mention the other general benefits this oil offers.

For the purpose of this post, I decided to only concentrate on its beauty benefits which are numerous, but I would only list the top five.

Tea tree oil is a concentrated plant oil extracted from the leaves of a tree native of Australian coastal areas.
It should never be taken internally, since it can cause drastic side effects.

I was recently introduced to Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil, a pure essential oil that comes in a large 4 ounce bottle with a FREE eBook 50+ Uses for Tea Tree Oil.

I have used it a few times and love how concentrated this oil is. I have put a few drops in my shampoo and also on my hand cream.

I have seen an improvement on my hands. They are softer and more moisturized than before. Winter makes my hands ashy and dry, so I definitely need to take care of my skin during this time of the year, more than ever.

My hair is shinier and healthier, also more manageable.

You can purchase it by simply clicking here <<< Apothecary Extracts 100% Pure Australian Tea Tree Oil >>>

How To Wear A Blanket Scarf: 9 Awesome Ways!

You have probably been wondering how to wear a blanket scarf, after seeing them displayed all over the stores and on the internet.

I did ask myself that question, because I thought that if I was going to invest in one, I might as well learn multiple ways to style it.

I decided to check out how other bloggers have been styling theirs, and I found 9 amazing and unique ways to make the most of your blanket scarf!

I really hope you enjoy these tips & pics as much I did! I really love every single way these awesome bloggers decided to wear their blanket scarves.

1. Handkerchief Style

 1. Unfold your scarf.
2. Fold it across evenly to create a triangle.
3. Grab the two far ends of the triangle, one in either hand.
4. Cross the two ends behind your head.
5. Pull them around to the front.
6. Tuck the two ends slightly under the rest of the scarf and fluff it out until the desired look is achieved.

2. Around And Around

You can actually wrap a real blanket around your neck, just like this pic from Wit & Delight that K Sarah / Designs is featuring on her blog.

3. Poncho Style

I love Lily’s approach from # By Lily, where she converts a scarf into a poncho looking one. As she says, it looks super fancy, and all you need to do is add a waist belt.

4. Belt Over

Or you can simply throw a blanket scarf over your neck and tie a belt on top of it and around your waist, just like Klára Nekulová styled hers. This is similar to the previous technique, but way easier, because here you don’t have to unfold it.

5. Swirly

All you need to do here is make a swirl with your scarf and put it through your head, letting both ends hang unequally. I love how Anette is wearing hers here.

6. Loose

Jeans and Roses decided to throw her blanket scarf on her neck, just a bit unfolded, letting it hang loose and a bit uneven.

7. Classic

This is simply the classic way of wearing a scarf. You wrap it around your neck by throwing it to one side, exactly like Wendy from thankfifi did.

 8. Twisted

This is a very unique and interesting way to style a blanket scarf. You would twist it right before you throw it on your shoulder! This approach is from Lovely Suitcase.

 9. On Your Shoulder

Mon Cherries chose to wear hers on her shoulders on top of a red long coat. I think it looks so chic!
