Hair Loss Treatments: Use these Home Remedies

Last night I was talking to a friend who is experiencing hair loss problems and does not know what to do. I personally believe stress and emotional issues could be some of the main causes of hair loss, therefore my advice to her was not get caught up on that and not to let her mind control her, as she should be the one controlling it instead. Besides this, I also decided to gather together a few hair loss treatments to help us prevent and treat this condition.

Hair Loss Treatments

1. Rub your scalp. It is said that massaging your scalp with your fingertips activates the sebaceous glands and improves the circulation of blood in your head. So massage your scalp vigorously every night for about 5 minutes.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar. Vinegar rejuvenates your scalp and hair, removing all residue that might be clogging your hair follicles. Mix ¼ cup of Vinegar with 3/4 of Water. Apply on your hair before washing it. Rub your scalp for about 5 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and then wash as usual.

3. Coconut Oil. Rub 2 Tablespoons of coconut oil against your scalp. Leave it on for about 20 minutes then wash as usual. Try doing this at least once a week.

4. Hair Mask. iloveindia.com recommends to combine 2 Tablespoons of Olive Oil and Rosemary, 1 Egg Yolk and the juice of a Lemon. Apply on your roots and leave it on for 30 minutes.

5.Yucca and Olive Oil. Yucca is a known remedy for hair growth and hair loss. Peel off a small piece of about 2 inches and either grate it or put in the blender. Add 3 Tablespoons of Olive Oil. Apply mixture on your scalp and your hair, cover it with a shower cap for 30 minutes. Rinse and wash as usual.

How to Treat a Foot Blister

How to Treat a Foot Blister

I have an anecdote to share. As I have mentioned before, I joined the gym a few weeks ago. On my first day, I went home handicapped… I pulled a muscle on my left leg and I also got a huge blister on my right foot. It was a nightmare! I couldn’t go back to the gym for a whole week. Anyways, I didn’t know how to treat my blister, so I had no choice but to wait for it to go away. So, I figured it would be helpful to know what to do next time, and also because I am pretty sure I am not the only one who this had happened to. And as beautiful and glamorous ladies that we are, we definitely need to get rid of blisters ASAP in order to keep wearing our superb and stylish shoes ;)

I found this helpful home treatment and wanted to share it with you:

Clean your blister with soap and water using your index finger. Apply Vaseline (Petroleum Jelly) or pop a Vitamin E capsule and apply the gel on the blister. Then cover it with a bandage or a gauze pad. Remove it at night, so the blister can get exposed to the air and dry out.

You could also apply a paste of Baking Soda mixed with water on top of the blister. If it pops, apply Hydrogen Peroxide to disinfect the area, and choose one of the home remedies from above.

Home Remedies Against Insomnia

Today I bring you a few home remedies as an antidote for those sleepless nights.

1. Valerian- It’s the most potent sleep herb. It’s been used for sleeping disorders, anxiety and as a muscle relaxant. May cause side effects, such as giddiness and disorientation, when taken in large excessive doses. Valerian is a tall plant that is native to Europe and parts of Asia. Can be found in most health food stores as “Valerian Root” in teas, tinctures and capsules.

2. Chamomile- Dried chamomile flower is a popular herbal remedy known in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. It’s a wonderful remedy for sleep disorders. Make a chamomile tea half hour before going to bed.

3. Lavender- The scent of lavender can give people a deeper sleep. Add a few drops of Lavender Oil to your bath, get a massage or just fill the top dish of an ‘oil burner’ with water and a few drops of Lavender Oil. Try doing this within an hour before going to sleep.

How to Make your Nail Polish Last Longer

I love painting my nails in a different color every week, but I wish my nail polish would last longer since I don’t have time to be painting my nails more than once a week. If you are like me, you probably understand exactly what I mean. We wish the nail color would last the whole week without chipping.

I found these helpful tips to make our lives much easier. Hope they work for you too :)

1. Apply Nail Polish Remover on your bare nails. This will remove any grease from the nail’s surface and it will make the nail polish last longer. You could also soak a cotton ball in Apple cider Vinegar or Lemon Juice and rub it on your nails. Besides removing the grease from them, it will also take the yellowness away.

2. Apply a base coat before applying the nail color.

3. Then proceed to apply the nail color in two thin layers. Second coat should be applied once the first coat is completely dry.

4. When you are painting the tip of your nails, make sure to extend the color under your nails as well. This will prevent your tips from chipping too fast.

5. Finally apply a transparent top coat over your nails and soak them in cold water for 5 minutes.
