Red and purple may sound, at first, like an awkward outfit combination, but if you do it right, I think you can definitely create a cute and eye-catching Fall-Winter look.
Yesterday I attended the first #WeAllGrowNYC event by Latina Bloggers Connect that took place in in Brooklyn NY, which is an extension of #WeAllGrow Summit, the go-to professional conference for Latina digital influencers.
I was so excited to attend, but I am more excited now to put into practice everything that I learned from such amazing and talented speakers that I had the privilege to listen to.
I was not too sure on what to wear to this event. At first I thought I was going to take public transportation due to the NY Marathon that took place yesterday, and I knew they were going close certain roads and bridges, but at the end I decided to drive to the city.
So I was debating on whether or not wear a dress and heels, or if instead, I should wear a more comfy outfit in case I had to walk a lot and it was too cold outside. I finally decided to go with the comfy outfit.
I chose to layer up a little bit, because I didn’t know if I was going to have to walk a long distance.
I was so blessed to find parking a block away and on top of that, I hardly hit any traffic, so right and then I knew it was going to be a fantastic day!
So I decided to wear this purple turtleneck that finally fitted me again! I was sooo happy!!! 😀
I added a reddish burgundy cardi and on top I threw my faux fur reversible cardi I got last year from New York & Company.
To complete the look, I chose to wear high-waist skinnies, a beige studded crossbody, and to add a bit of drama, I wore my pair of oldies zebra pumps.
Regarding the Makeup, I went pretty natural on my eyes, wearing neutral eye-shadows and my regular cat eyes. But I chose to emphasize my lips by wearing one of my favorite lipsticks: Pink Pigeon from MAC Cosmetics. Plus I thought it would match my outfit!
I really felt great wearing my outfit! The heels were perfect; the layering technique kept me warm and cozy; plus the fur vest hid all my ‘chichos’ 😆 , and I felt alive and energized by wearing bright colors!
So tell me, is this something you would wear? Would you combine red and purple in one outfit?
