Orange And Blue is such an eye-catching and striking combination! I love combining orange with all different hues of blue.
For Dilcia’s look we chose to work with these two powerful colors, because we thought they would go perfect with her skintone. She recently bought this dress at New York & Company and we decided to pair it with these blue colorblock peep-toe pumps.
The dress features a studded neckline in gold, so we also picked her jewelry in gold, and to add drama and contrast, we added a black and white leopard print clutch.
We also added a turquoise necklace wrapped around her wrist.
I love how this makeover turned out. Dilcia looks so pretty and glamorous, ready to go dine out or enjoy some drinks.

Retro Chic is one of my favorite styles. It brings out sort of a classy and exotic allure in any gal.
Retro Chic is how I would describe Zoraya’s look…she is very classy and loves, loves loose fit clothes. Even though her style is classy and elegant, she also likes to play with colors and be daring sometimes.
That is why for this look, I chose this shift dress she had in her closet. It is powerful, eye-catching and sexy! It features a super magnetic pattern of vibrant colors that will make you stand out even from the biggest crowd.
She also had in her closet these gorgeous shoes in beige, perfect to create balance within the whole look.
I decided to add an orange clutch and also gold accessories. I thought these long vintage earrings were perfect to complement the look with no need to add a necklace at all.
Regarding the Makeup, I chose to create the so trendy Cut Crease technique, because it is also super retro. I worked with beige and royal blue hues for the eyes, complementing the look with creamy/peachy lips.
I think Zoraya looks extremely beautiful! This look actually goes with her style and her dynamic personality. What do you think?
Zoraya’s Retro Chic Look
Zoraya told me this dress was a gift given to her from one of her closest BFF’s. I believe it is from Neiman Marcus. She is also wearing these sexy Jennifer Lopez Hooded Platform High Heels from Kohl’s.
Regarding the Makeup, I first did the Pre Makeup with Makeup For Ever Primer, Two Faced Eye Primer and Graftobian Wheel Corrector. I worked with the Hi-Def Glamour Creme Foundation (Femme Fatale) from Graftobian & Studio Fix Compact Powder from MAC Cosmetics. I chose to work with the Color My Life Eye & Lip Makeup Tablet from Sephora (Matte Beige & Royal Blue), and also Prisma Chrome Sephora Eyeshadow (Sapphire Shine). I used Black Gel Eyeliner from Maybelline, defining her eyebrows with the amazing Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Duo, Brow Gel & Highlighter. I used the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Compact to contour her face, and for her lips, I used Avon Lip Liner (Chocolate) and mixed AVON Lipstick (Pink Twilight) with MAC Cosmetics Lipstick (Ravishing).

Bohemian Chic is one of my favorite styles! And I couldn’t be happier to have the pleasure of working with such a beautiful boho soul and free spirit like this awesome gal.
Grey loves florals, flowy and vivid colors…her style is daring and edgy, but on the other hand it’s casual and comfy without being too laid back.
We chose to work with an eye-catching floral pattern, a pop of red and mint, as well as plenty of gold accessories.
This Long Patterned Dress is actually trending right now. It is made out of a sheer floral fabric with a split in the front. This kind of dress is made to be worn with shorts, and even leggings I would say, just like Grey chose to. I wanted to create a ‘glam boho chic’ look, so we worked with a combo of red heels and clutch.
I also added a gold antique belt as well as some cute jewelry Grey owns. To create contrast, I decided to add a statement necklace in a mint green color.
I feel the red paired with the mint green mixed with the floral pattern, make such an stunning combination.
This is such an eye-catching look perfect for a day into night event, ideal for Spring and Summer ♥
Grey’s Bohemian Chic Look
Grey told me she got this dress at H&M; I looked online and found a similar Long Patterned Dress in a different color. We also added a few bracelets and some statement rings to complement the bohemian chic style. If you want to achieve the look you can definitely add heels and bag in any impactful color, contrasting with a statement necklace. Contact me if you need some advice!
Regarding the Makeup, I first did the Pre Makeup with Makeup For Ever Primer, Two Faced Eye Primer and NAO Concealer. I worked with the Matchmaster Foundation & Studio Fix Compact Powder from MAC Cosmetics. I chose to work with earthy plum/wine (Trax) and bright gold (Goldmine) MAC Cosmetics Eyeshadows. I added the iconic black cat eye and used Black Gel Eyeliner from Maybelline, defining her eyebrows with the amazing Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Duo, Brow Gel & Highlighter. I used the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Compact to contour her face, and for her lips, I used OFRA Lip Liner (Baby Doll) and mixed Sephora Lipstick (Love Life) with MAC Cosmetics Lipstick (Ravishing).

A couple months ago, I went to Soho in New York City and I had the privilege to work with the great and awesome photographer Sonsiree Martinez. She came up with this incredible project and I could tell you I was really thrilled since day one, so as per her suggestion and following her vision, I incarnated the so powerful and incomparable diva Maria Felix La Dona. María Felix is doubtlessly the most famous Mexican movie star till today’s date, who created an image of a tough woman who went beyond the traditional role of Latina women back then.
I was a little concerned on how I was going to personify this gorgeous and glamorous woman, since all she exudes in all of her pictures, besides her innate glamour, is power, strength, magnetism and some sort of a unique enigmatic allure. I feel women already have all of these qualities within them; it is just that we all have a unique way of expressing them and of course she had her own. Besides, I didn’t want to be a bad copycat of Maria Felix La Dona, so I decided to study her a little deeper to be able to connect with her energy and charisma and then introduce my own, so the project could be a total success.
I identify myself with Maria Felix La Dona a lot. As Sonsiree describes her, she was a very powerful and enigmatic woman who her uniqueness made her become the starlet we all know in today’s world. She rebelled to the women submission which till this day Hispanic society believes in. She loved Fashion and had a very peculiar sense of style and she also loved Jewelry. It is uncertain what really made her personality so strong. Some rumors say her brother’s death made her this way. I truly believe life is a continuous learning experience we all need in order to grow and improve as human beings, but it is very important to be able to canalize all the negative situations we go through, so we could learn from each one of them and move forward. To me, the key relies on not taking everything personal and not holding on to any good or bad situation. If we are able to see everything that happens to us just as a learning experience and that’s it, I believe we are automatically opening the doors to something much better and more challenging. At the end, our experiences and everything we learn and master will be the only things that will remain with us.
I would like for all of us to be able to express that María Felix we all have in us, by always being confident, strong, powerful and magnetic. We all have what it takes; it is just a matter of working on our inner beauty, our self esteem and also changing our mindset.

Now I will leave you with an article written by the talented photographer Sonsiree Martinez:
A Day with Dianie Collado
By: Sonsiree Martinez
I had the great opportunity to meet the enigmatic Dianie Collado through the Metaphysical classes we both go to every week. One day I approached her being that I already knew about her talent to transform creating a different look every week and sharing it with hundreds of people through her Blog: “Lakshmi in Trance”, and I said to her: “I would love to do a photoshoot of you”, and she accepted really happy. But we never put it into agenda.
This year I had the chance to create a project representing the legendary María Félix, but I needed the perfect woman that would have all the qualities that made “La Doña” immortal, and that is when “Dianie” immediately came to my mind. I contacted her right away and just like the first time she accepted really excited, and even more when I told her it was regarding a project about María Félix. We got together for the photoshoot in New York City and that was a day that I learned a lot about Dianie. A person with a very interesting life and part of that is reflected on her Blog. But I also saw another side of her which is her honesty, the confidence she reflects and without any doubt how she tells you very clear her perception of life.
Something that really caught my attention was that she doesn’t call herself a “Fashionista”, since she explained to me that a Fashionista follows trends and she instead creates styles. I learned that you have to be able to play with what you have in your closet creating art just like she does. Ahhhh!!!!! If you ask me if I had the chance to go into her closet? The answer is YES; it was very important to me to be able to understand and get to know her as an artist, and to also be able to connect with her magic watching her create her styles, and I must say that it is something extraordinary that would make someone’s hair stand on end.
And one more thing, soon we will share a documentary about Dianie’s life and you will have the chance to see behind the scenes where all the magic takes place!
Thanks again Dianie for sharing with us the art of creating Beauty!!!!
Last weekend I did my friend Magy’s Vintage Hair and Makeup. She was going to a vintage wedding and required my services. She made a great choice by putting together this so girly and unique outfit. Magy chose a light yellow vintage dress and paired it with red shoes and a clutch. Her outfit was so delicate and sober that made her look super elegant and impeccable. She added pearled studs along with a pearled bracelet. The wedding was in the morning, so she came to my Temple real early and right away I started working on her makeup. I applied pre-makeup products from Sephora and then I proceed to apply Studio Tech Powder Foundation from MAC Cosmectics. I defined her eyebrows using a Trucco Sebastian eyebrow powder. I applied some neutral eyeshadows from my NAKED Palette of Urban Decay, since she told me she didn’t want the makeup to be too dramatic (of course, a challenge for me ;)). I did a simple cat eye technique, but I applied tons of mascara (shhhh…), since I just don’t know how to be simple, hehehe… I also added a Bobbi Brown Bronzer as a blush and for the lips, I applied a combination of red lipsticks to finally achieve the perfect red. Last, I set the makeup by applying compact powder allover her face and also a setting spray.
Regarding the hair, I created a side twist along with a donut bun and last, I put an off white fascinator on the left side right next to the twist.
She later texted me to let me know of all the compliments she got even from the Bride! I am so happy to once again be able to meet someone’s expectations. Thank you Magy for putting all your trust in me! Very much appreciated♥
Here there are some pics I took that morning:
Magy’s Vintage Hair and Makeup:
Pre-Makeup: Sephora Foundation Primer & Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer. Makeup: NAKED Palette from Urban Decay (Naked, Virgin & Toasted); Line Stiletto Black Liquid Eyeliner from Maybelline New York; XXL Pro Mascara Step1 from Maybelline; Big Fatty Mascara from Urban Decay; the ROCKET VOLUM’ EXPRESS Mascara from Maybelline New York; Bronzer from Bobbi Brown (brownie); MAC Lip Pencil (Redd); MAC Cosmetics Lipsticks (RiRi Woo & Amplified Heartless); Studio Tech Foundation & Studio Fix Compact Powder from MAC Cosmetics; All Nighter Setting Spray from Urban Decay. Hair: I used an Oversized Donut Sponge from Claire’s along with an Off White Flower/Net Fascinator from Forever 21.
